A RAM IN THE BUSH

Abraham and Isaac (Podcast)

Genesis 22

We cannot always see or understand our future. However, God has already mapped our pathway filled with blessings and trials.  Through the toughest of times, He provides a way. As this is not heaven (Rev 21:4), misfortunes will ever be present. The enemy comes to disrupt all things (John 10:10) created to provide peace and harmony. He comes to make all things beautiful into a grotesque thing.

But God is merciful (Psalms 89:14) and He always provides a “ram in the bush (thicket)”.  We can see His handiwork in Noah and the Ark (Gen 5:32), Jacob’s (Israel) salvation through Joseph (Gen 41), Jonah and the Whale, and many stories demonstrating His great compassion.

In Today’s lesson, we discover God’s man – Abraham, is put to the ultimate test.  The story parallels our lives today that when we are at our lowest ebb – God delivers from the jaws of discomfort in the form of a ram.
