What makes a good father – one who can gain the respect of his wife and children? Knowing he ma not necessarily be loved (now) and still pushes towards a safe and aboding household. Leadership is not easy. It requires patience, skill, adaptation, endurance, temper control, and other tangibles.

Another need in strong trait is masculinity — it’s an obstacle! Finding good men who can become better fathers is becoming more difficult as the shift is away from God. The very concept of strength is being challenged, even labeled as questionable, at every turn. Throw in issues like gender fluidity, LGBQT+ affirmation and gender protagonists, and the topic becomes so heavy-ladened that few Christians find it difficult to navigate.

Tangibly – this action is richly expensive.

As our institutions are falling fast, the family structure pre-prerequisite still requires a strong man. Godly men. For the world centers on the male species to provide, protect, have ethical behavior. A spiritual man super-sizes these efforts.

The word of God offers several shining examples of good men God choose to lead his house and His people.

  • Adam—The First Man

  • Noah—A Righteous Man

  • Abraham—Father of the Jewish Nation

  • Isaac—Son of Abraham

  • Jacob—Father of the 12 Tribes of Israel

These are not men who chase ambition at every turn, but men who passionately pursue the important things in life. When he is at his weakest moment in leading his family, he turns to God.

These are not men who give into pleasure and impulse, but men who give themselves over to the pursuit of holiness to the Lord. This is a man of God.

Bible Scriptures supporting Strong Fathers:

  • Proverbs 23:24: "The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: And he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him.”

  • Ephesians 6:4: "Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."

  • Proverbs 1:8: "Hear, my son, your father's instruction, and forsake not your mother's teaching."

  • 2 Corinthians 6:18: "And I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty."

  • Psalm 103:13: "As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him."
